Derbyshire Pilates was established more than ten years ago by Bridgette Bradley. Over the years, Bridgette has developed an holistic approach to her work, which encourages an understanding of the fundamental principles of the Pilates method to balance both mind and body. The main focus of her work is clinical Pilates movement therapy, dedicated to postural and injury rehabilitation. The aim is to encourage correct functional movement thereby relieving pain, stiffness, soreness and restricted range of movement. This helps the body avoid injury and move more freely, enhancing sports performance and the quality of everyday life.
After a serious horse riding accident some years ago, Bridgette found Pilates an ideal and effective method to rehabilitate and manage her own spinal discomfort. She combines her own experiences, with a sound theoretical and practical understanding of the physical and psychological difficulties associated with recovery from injury and postural problems. Bridgette recognises the hectic and often stressful demands of every day life, and how these manifest themselves physically in the body as pain, tightness, fatigue and emotional vulnerability.
Bridgette offers specialist postural rehabilitation exercises on a one-to-one basis, looking at the whole person, adopting a multi-disciplinary approach. As a personal trainer she uses functional integrated exercise to promote postural control. Her expertise in Physiological psychology and ergonomics, along with her in-depth knowledge of the Pilates method promotes a focussed and progressive approach.

She deals with issues such as:
- Sacroiliac joint problems, including pelvic girdle pain and pubic symphasis dysfunction (PGP & PSD)
- Degenerative disc disease / Post operative exercise guidance and rehabilitation exercises
- Non-specific lower back pain and strategies for chronic pain management
